License Plate Recognition
This information will address the need to capture the VIN, Year, Make and Model of the vehicle which in turn identifies the OEM specific tires (and/or options for tires at build-out), as well as stored repair information in the service center’s management system such as customer name, phone, email, vehicle mileage and tire replacement history.
Sidewall Data: Actual Tire Size, Speed/Load Ratings, Tire Age
This data will ensure an accurate quote for the current tires on the vehicle. Some drivers prefer the experience of their current tires after replacing their original OE tires. The tire DOT number unlocks the production date of the tire for the age and possible safety recalls on that tire.
Wheel Rim Specifics
Confirmation of vehicle/tire identification using a proprietary library of OE wheel rim images and characteristics. With this library of wheel rim data, we can determine and confirm the OE tire that was homologated from the vehicle manufacturer to match the suspension goals in engineering.
By collecting and analyzing these three major components and running them through a proprietary API into the distribution partner’s pricing and inventory program, WheelSpec can accurately and efficiently generate an automatic comparison tire quote of multiple tires that includes (1) current tire on the vehicle, (2) OE-matched tire as delivered new, and (3) a budget tire option for high-mileage vehicles.
WheelSpec’s automatically generated quote will also take into consideration inventory levels to ensure quick and accurate actionable results to drive an improved customer experience.
